Successfully Holds 2025 Special Meeting, Approves New Constitution and Elects
New Standing Committee

On 16 May 2025, the China
Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand (CCCNZ) successfully held its Special
Meeting on Level 19 of the Bank of China office building in Auckland. With the
active participation and strong support of its member organizations, the Chamber
completed all scheduled agenda items.
Presided over by Mr. Beihai Hu,
the meeting was attended by representatives from member organizations, either in person or by
proxy, meeting the quorum requirement. The meeting deliberated and unanimously passed the
following three key resolutions:
- Decision to re-register CCCNZ under the
Incorporated Societies Act 2022:
The Chamber will proceed with re-registration in accordance with the new
law to ensure continued legal compliance and sound governance.
- Adoption of the revised Constitution: The new Constitution provides a more
comprehensive and structured framework for the Chamber’s governance,
clearly defining its organizational structure, member rights and
obligations, meeting procedures, and financial management.
- Election and appointment of a new Standing
Committee and official contact persons: The new Standing Committee comprises representatives from various
sectors including banking, aviation, construction, dairy, and logistics,
ensuring broad representation and industry expertise. Mr. Beihai Hu, CEO
of Bank of China (New Zealand) Limited, was elected as the president of CCCNZ.
In addition, the meeting
confirmed the appointment of Ms. Mia Yang (Bank of China (New Zealand) Limited)
as full-time Secretary and Ms. Summer Xia (Industrial and Commercial Bank of
China (New Zealand) Limited) as part-time Secretary. Both will be registered
with the Companies Office as official contact persons.
The successful conclusion of
this Special General Meeting marks a significant milestone in CCCNZ’s
commitment to compliance, organizational development, and strategic progress.
The Chamber will continue to uphold its mission of "serving members, promoting
cooperation, and strengthening China–New Zealand economic and trade ties,"
by providing high-quality services, building communication platforms, and
supporting the sustainable growth of bilateral business relations.
